Making the Most of The Holiday Season in Calgary

Here at Shaw GMC Chevrolet Buick we can’t help but get swept up in the holiday spirit. While we lament the cold and snow in January and February, there’s a certain magic to it during December, and with so many great holiday events to experience throughout the month it’s hard not to hop into your 2017 GMC Terrain and get out there to take advantage of the benefits of living here in Calgary, AB.

Here’s a quick rundown of some of our favorite holiday events in the area:

The Nutcracker, Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium – Nothing says Christmas like The Nutcracker, still the most famous and most widely-performed ballet in the world. You’ll be surprised how many of these gorgeous Tchaikovsky songs you already know, and the dancing only makes it all even more majestic.

Once Upon A Christmas, Heritage Park – On weekends all this month there are horse rides available in Heritage Park that take you and your family around to enjoy the winter scenery. There is carol singing, live historical theatre, and even a place to visit Santa Claus and his reindeer. It’s not quite as smooth as test-driving a new or used Chevy vehicle at your Chevrolet dealership serving Cochrane, AB, but it’s pretty darn close.

The Polar Express, Aspen Crossing, Mossleigh – This one requires a little bit of driving, but it’s worth it to take your family on a real train trip meant to mimic the Polar Express. Kids are served hot chocolate while music from the film plays, and at the end Santa himself comes out and greets every kid individually. It personifies all the magic of the season and is worth the quick trip out to Mossleigh.
